Hi, I’m Haley. I’m from Melbourne. I studied at ACU Brisbane and I was doing the classic thing after graduation and waiting around for a QS job, then I heard about this opportunity and decided to apply. I was just kind of seeing how it was gonna go as it all sound a bit too good to be true. To be quite frank I was suspicious until I got here and it is even better than I had imagined! Dannie and Joe are just the most supportive American family. We have had so many experiences that I didn’t even know we were gonna have coming over here. The training is amazing, especially coming straight from uni, having all of that consolidated information and getting to practice doing skills that aren’t in our Australian scope, it’s super exciting. I feel so supported. I honestly think it’s the best opportunity that there is following uni”

"It’s a scary thought of starting a new job in a foreign system in a country where you don’t know anyone. When I decided to make this transition it was made super easy thanks to International Medic Solutions (IMS) who were, and are there to continually support and inform me of each step in my journey. This program has successfully proven to work for all ages and all experience levels and I’m proud to say I would confidently recommend this program to all my friends. If you dream of hitting up the beach, the snow, the trails, Disneyland or seeing your favourite sport heroes and teams on your days off, then make this dream a reality. It’s time to place your trust in IMS, submit your application and book your ticket to work in your dream career in a beautiful country full of endless opportunities for adventure. I’ve loved every step of my experience so far and I guarantee that you will too."

I studied my Paramedic degree at the University of Southern Queensland. I am 3 weeks into my American adventure, it has been a lot of fun, I have really enjoyed the experience and if I could’ve come soon sooner I definitely would have. I think that this is a wonderful career opportunity for me, particularly given the difficulties and getting a job back. I would definitely recommend.

"Coming to the States presents an awesome set of opportunities. From an increased skills scope, to accelerated pathways (TEMS and HEMS), to just being able to see a different type of EMS in practice there are so many different experiences and learning opportunities to be had. It really just becomes what you are willing to make it."

"International Medic Solutions (IMS) are now the leading the Australia to USA paramedic bridging program and I am so honoured to be a part of the first cohort. Through IMS’s support and bridging program I was able to use my Australian education and AHPRA registration to now become a national, state and county qualified and registered American paramedic working on a 2 year E-3 Visa. IMS were supportive and personal with individualised eduction material, pathways and employment. I’m now happily working jointly in Sonoma County with Medic Ambulance and Sonoma County Fire District. To be able to work at a CCP scope gives me the ability to treat the sickest in this community and ultimately provide a small piece of high quality healthcare, which can and does change the lives of Americans given the difference in health systems compared to Australia. 6 months in and I’m having talks with my employer with potential extensions to my contract. When I started my bachelors degree 5 years ago, I never would have thought I’d be where I am today and I think that’s the blessing of this industry, it’s been an adventure and a decision I wouldn’t change. - Sam Fiorin (IMS Cohort 23-1)"

"I came over to the states on a study tour through Australia EMS back in February and fell in love with it so I've decided to come back to the U.S. and work as a paramedic for two years. If you're tired of waiting around for a state ambulance service job back in Australia, I'd highly encourage you to consider coming to work in the U.S. as a Paramedic, it's the best career move I've made and I'm absolutely loving it so far!"

"Don’t sit back and wait for a possible paramedic internship in Australia when you can come join me in the United States with a guaranteed position right now. Your scope of practice will allow you to undertake an advanced skill set which is only accessible and applicable to an ICP / CCP qualification within any Australian service. Once I made the decision and committed to join with International Medic Solutions (IMS), I have been thoroughly supported throughout the whole process of dealing with Immigration, the US Embassy, and all relevant documentation required in obtaining my working E3 Visa which is good for the next 3 years. You will undertake weekly Zoom meetings with Dannie and Joe, where as a group you can discuss any concerns, doubts or challenges you might be feeling. You will also complete pre-protocol and educational testing in paramedic knowledge and how it relates to the US EMS 911 system. When you arrive you will undertake an intensive paramedic program through Southwestern College (SWC) with exceptional mentors to help you gain confidence in the valuable knowledge and skills in an extended scope of practice from what you have learnt in Australian University programs. The opportunities are endless and only reliant to how far you want to step outside of your comfort zone. Within only a couple of months with my organization, I have been selected to join a specialised component within the EMS system. I now am a valuable member of the Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) team working closely, side-by-side with other organizations such as the FBI, CIA, National Homeland Security and Local Police Departments in responding to violate and unpredictable situations. These type of opportunities just don’t happen back in Australia without many years of experience and seniority within an organization. Take the leap and come join other like-minded Aussies already living and working in sunny California. You won’t regret it."

"I'm super glad I took the leap and packed up my life to move here to the US. There's no doubt we've been hit by so many obstacles but I can definitely say I'm happy where I have ended up. I've met some amazing people through my trip so far and am keen on making many more friends that will last a life time. It's definitely not an easy transition but IMS make it as smooth as they can, professionally, physically and emotionally. If you consider yourself an adventurous person and are willing to put in the work, I'd definitely jump on board with the program! I've recommended it to all of my friends already and am happy to help them and any other Aussies where I can. Although the contract is only 2 years, I'm definitely not opposed to extending my stay!" "IMS literally bridges the gap between Paramedics in Australia looking for work and the many companies looking for medics in the USA! The visas, paperwork, and moving continents was easy having the most wonderful team along the way in Dannie and Joe. This has been the most amazing challenge and experience - and to be able to do it with my husband has been a blessing! Coming to the USA on an E3 visa allowed my husband not only come with me, but to also have legal working status for 2 years so we get to be on this adventure together! It’s an adventure I’d encourage all young paramedics and married couples to embark on."
